U.S. News and World Report named Mount Zion High School one of America’s Best High Schools, based on performance on state-required tests and how well prepared students are for college.

“We are so excited to be recognized as one of the best schools in America,” said Tracey Barrow, Principal of Mount Zion High School. “Our teachers go the extra mile to make sure our students receive a quality education. We are giving HOPE to our students by providing extra help, opportunities, preparation and encouragement.”

Students at Mount Zion High School have advanced learning opportunities through industry approved programs at Carroll County Schools’ College and Career Academy south campus, dual enrollment opportunities with West Georgia Technical College and the University of West Georgia and real life work-based learning through 12 for Life, a partnership with Southwire. In addition, West Georgia Technical College offers two courses onsite to prepare Mount Zion students for post-secondary education.

“This recognition is evidence of the high achievement and performance of Mount Zion High School,” said Scott Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools. “We are very proud of the students, teachers and administrators for their success and look forward to the upcoming year.”
