North College and Career Academy students from Mr. Ed Cook’s Broadcast Video Production class were recognized by the Georgia School Board Association (GSBA) in partnership with the Georgia Vision Project’s Spark campaign for winning second place in a video contest. The theme for the competition was “Community Support: What Does It Look Like”. Kaelyn Williams was the producer and editor, Miracle Thomas served as the on camera talent, and Andrew Campbell was the camera operator for the project. Actors included Alissa Kemp, Xavion Sparks, Mercy Oliva, Ethan Bradley, and Zakiyah Green.

“I am proud of these students for demonstrating a high level of skill and teamwork and for representing our district at the state level,” said Scott Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools. “Our students have premier learning opportunities not only in video production but also in the many other programs offered at our College and Career Academy campuses.”

Carroll County is the only district in the state to have two College and Career Academy locations. Engineering, Healthcare Science, Information Technology, Broadcast and Video Production are a few of the many award-winning program pathways available.
