Three Carroll County Schools Named Greatest Gains Award Winners

The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement recently announced the 2017 Greatest Gains Award Winners, and three Carroll County Schools were among the 139 schools recognized statewide.
Bowdon Middle School earned a Bronze award, Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School earned a Silver award and Temple High School received top honors as a Platinum award-winner.
The Greatest Gains honor is given to schools that earn a three-year average College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Progress Score that ranks in the 93rd percentile or greater for public schools in Georgia. Bowdon Middle School scored in the 93rd percentile in the state for progress, Glanton-Hindsman Elementary scored in the 95th percentile and Temple High School was in the 99th percentile of schools in Georgia.
“Carroll County School System is always excited when our schools are recognized for outstanding achievement,” said Scott Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools. “The three schools that were recognized as being 2017 Greatest Gains winners continue to meet and exceed expectations for academic progress and are focused on success for all students.”
