Dear Students, Parents, and Friends of Education,

Welcome to the Carroll County Schools’ website! The web has become an important way for us to provide current, comprehensive information about the Carroll County School System and our programs and services. We hope you find the information you are looking for while visiting our site. Please contact us if we can further serve your educational needs.

We have many new programs in place this year that we believe will enhance successful, existing curriculum by providing our students with the top quality education each of them deserve. As the 24th largest school system in Georgia with an average growth rate of 5%, we continue to rely on smaller community-based schools and partnerships between parents and the community for optimal student achievement. Our school sizes range from 420-950 in elementary school and 575-1100 in middle school to 400-1200 in high school.

Our goal in Carroll County School System is to provide quality instruction to all of our students. In an effort to better achieve this goal, we are placing well-deserved emphasis on the alignment of our curriculum with local, state, and national standards, along with various state criterion reference tests and nationally normed reference tests. We believe this alignment will better prepare our students now and into the future.

Traditional high expectations for our school system’s educational programs among the community are interwoven through the passage of a $41 million SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) in 1998, an $45 million SPLOST in 2003, and through the goals of our Chamber of Commerce’s “Carroll Tomorrow: A Strategic Plan for Economic Growth.”

Our current growth rate in student population brings both challenge and opportunity. The Carroll County Board of Education has approved a comprehensive ten-year facility plan to accommodate our building needs for providing quality learning environments for all students.

In order to compete with surrounding metro Atlanta school systems, we have launched a broad recruitment effort to solicit the nation’s best educators for our students.

In Carroll County Schools, we strive for academic excellence and life-long learning by standing firmly behind our pledge of “putting students first.” This is an exciting time to be involved in the Carroll County School System. We wish to partner with our communities, parents, and educational supporters to make our schools an even better place to learn. Help us make a difference in the lives of our students.
