The Carroll County Board of Education approved changes to some elementary boundary lines at the Board Meeting on March 12, 2018. The new boundary lines will be effective beginning in August 2018.
The purpose of the elementary boundary line changes is to ensure the building and instructional capacity of each Carroll County school is not exceeded.
The District will mail a letter to all families affected by the elementary boundary line changes to explain next steps. Parents of existing students in the newly re-zoned areas have two options available:
1. If parents choose to continue to send their child to their current school, they must complete a Redistricting Waiver Form online at carrollcountyschools.com between March 19 and April 9. In addition to completing the online waiver, parents must also agree to provide transportation to their current school, and the student must remain in good academic, attendance and behavioral standing.
2. Parents can choose to have bus transportation provided for their student. Parents of existing students may choose to have bus transportation provided to the newly re-zoned school by simply completing a bus transportation form during Open House for the 2018-2019 school year.
