Carroll County Board of Education Approves FY2020 Budget

The Carroll County Board of Education approved a budget for Fiscal Year 2020 that demonstrates its priorities of providing premier learning opportunities, attracting and retaining top talent, and focusing on the safety of students and staff.
The FY2020 Budget Includes:

A $3,000 Raise for Certified Staff and a 2% Pay Increase for All Other Positions

Additional Teacher Positions and an Additional Partners Advancing Student Success Coordinator

New Pathways for Law and Public Safety and Industrial Maintenance

Increased Support for Ongoing STEM and STEAM Initiatives

Increased Resources to Support Social Emotional Well-Being

Additional Funding for Instructional Technology and Technology Infrastructure

Funding for Enhanced Safety and Security Measures

Additional Bus Purchases
“We are passionate about investing in our staff and students and providing the necessary resources for them to achieve success,” said Bart Cater, Chairman of the Carroll County Board of Education. “Superintendent Cowart has worked closely with the Board to ensure the allocation of funds aligns with the District’s Vision Commitments. The entire board and Mr. Cowart strive to approve policies and programs that will positively change the lives of all those we serve.”
The approved budget represents an increase of $8 million over the FY2019 budget primarily due to an increase in state funding.
Carroll County School System’s financial efficiency ranks among the top 16% of Georgia districts. The Georgia Department of Education and the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement recently recognized CCSS with a four-star rating for the third consecutive year, based on spending per student versus academic performance. Only 12 districts in Georgia earned a higher rating.
