Carroll County School System Hosts 6th Annual Safety Summit
Jul 27 2018
Carroll County School System recently hosted its 6th Annual School Safety Summit, sponsored by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Approximately 200 attendees, including first responders from local public safety and health agencies, as well as school personnel from all 23 county schools participated in the event.
Carroll County School System was the first district in Georgia to implement an annual safety summit and continues to make school safety its top priority. The primary objectives of the summit were to review current safety measures and to train school personnel on how to be prepared for a variety of situations.
“We are fortunate to have long-standing partnerships with all of our local public safety agencies,” said Terry Jones, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. “Having the opportunity to come together as one team during this event ensures that we are aligned in our efforts to keep all students safe.”
Since June 2017, Carroll County School System has invested two million dollars in safety measures throughout the district and is focused on continued enhancements, training, and safety resources for our staff and students.
