Carroll County School System Names Director of Accountability and Professional Learning

Carroll County School System is pleased to announce that Dr. Marissa Ogando has been named the Director of Accountability and Professional Learning.

Dr. Ogando joined the Carroll County School System 9 years ago and currently serves as Principal of Whitesburg Elementary School. During her tenure, WES has become the only school in the nation to earn both International AdvancED STEM Certification and certification from the National Institute for STEM Education. WES also ranks in the top 9% of schools in Georgia and earned a CCRPI score of 90.3 out of 100.

Dr. Ogando received her Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of West Georgia, a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University, a Specialist in Educational Leadership and a Doctorate in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction both from Argosy University. She is currently a member of the American School Leader Panel and serves on the Board for The Professional Learning Association, Learning Forward. Throughout her career, Dr. Ogando has been recognized for her leadership qualities. She is a recipient of the Life Changer Award, the Rock Star Principal Award and is a National Institute for STEM Education certified Administrator.

Dr. Ogando stated, “Serving as a leader in Carroll County has been the greatest joy of my professional career. I feel abundantly blessed to be able to partner with the schools in our district as we continue to provide premier learning environments for all students.”
