Carroll County School System’s Business and Finance Department was recently recognized by the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts with an Award of Distinction for excellence in financial reporting. Only 38 school districts in Georgia earned the Award of Distinction this year.
According to the organization’s website, the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts improves the accountability of state agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, and county governments. An award of distinction is presented to organizations that submit quality financial statements and supporting documentation in a timely manner, whose annual financial report is given an unmodified audit opinion and is free of any significant deficiencies or material weaknesses, and comply with all Transparency in Government requirements.
