Central Middle Student Wins Georgia FFA Event

Dec 11 2021

Central Middle School student Levi Layton won the Georgia FFA Career Development Event in the category of Agricultural Technology and Equipment ID. State CDE Day was December 11 in Tifton.

The Agricultural Technology and Equipment ID Career Development Event gives students in grades 6-9 an opportunity to practice those skills and abilities developed as a regular part of the agricultural education curriculum. The CDE is designed to provide experience in agricultural mechanics and assess the knowledge gained from classroom instruction. This year’s event was divided into four major components: a skill practicum over using an automatic level, a measurement activity related to reading surveying grade rods, a tool identification practicum, and written test over land surveying.
