College and Career Academy Students Earn Top Honors in FCCLA State Competition

Three students from the College and Career Academy South earned top honors in the 2020-2021 Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) state competition.
Katelynn Arrington won first place for Creative Showpiece—This competition is designed to highlight the creativity and artistry skills of culinary arts.
Kayleigh Elle won first place for Chicken Fabrication—This competition showcases the best of knife skills while meeting industry standards.
Lucy Barker won second place for Etiquette Proficiency—This competition focuses on the mastery and understanding of professional etiquette in the workplace.
The mission of FCCLA Competitive Events is to focus on the development of students in the areas of family members, wage earners, and community leaders. Each event is designed to help students demonstrate specific skills in character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
