Carroll County Schools continues to work with local health agencies, our community, and surrounding school districts in planning for the start of school. We have been monitoring data, meeting with healthcare partners, and seeking feedback from stakeholders. Through this effort, we are reviewing and refining our reopening preparations. One element of the reopening plan we are continuing to analyze is the optimal date for students to return to school. We believe that the best possible learning model for our students is onsite learning face to face with our teachers and staff, and our efforts are centered around when and how to do this. This is a complex process that has many ramifications, thus we will continue to study options and share with the Board of Education at the July 27, 2020 called board meeting. If there are changes to the school calendar, the district will provide an update on July 28.
As previously announced, our plans during these uncertain times are very fluid and will be tailored to meet the needs of our community through onsite learning and a virtual learning option. We appreciate the patience and support from our community to partner with us to ensure the safety of students and staff continues to be our top priority.
