On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Ithica Elementary School hosted the 5th Annual Carroll County Reading Bowl for students from all twelve Carroll County Elementary Schools. Participants were very excited to demonstrate their knowledge of all the books they have read this year. Each team participated in six rounds with ten questions each. All of the questions were based on the nominees for the Georgia Book Award, which consisted of 10 chapter books.
Central Elementary won first place, Mt. Zion won second place, and Ithica Elementary and Whitesburg Elementary tied for third place. Central and Mt. Zion will participate in the Regional Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
