The Mt. Zion High School Weightlifting Team captured its third straight Class A state weightlifting championship at the GACA Class A State Weightlifting Championships at Jefferson County in Louisville on March 3, 2018. The Eagles tallied 100 team points with fourteen lifters placing in the competition. Mt. Zion High School’s Strength and Conditioning Coach, Justin Joyner, was extremely pleased to see his team win the three-peat. Joyner stated, “Our kids have bought in and have seen the results of working out hard and committing to the process of getting better every day.” Seniors Kareem Walker, C.J. Ackles, and Que Beasley each took home their second straight individual championships.
