Apr 28 2022

Congratulations to our Carroll County School Nutrition program and staff who were honored at the annual Georgia School Nutrition Association conference April 21-23 in Savannah.

Donna Folds, Procurement Specialist for School Nutrition, was chosen as the winner of the Central Office Support Award for the state of Georgia. This award is given to the backbone of the nutrition program who performs the jobs necessary to keep the program financially sound and to ensure the day to day operations are a success. Donna also assist schools daily in technical support, ordering, filling in as a manager or a food service employee. She helps provide training and assists with catering needed in the district.

Mary Shadrix, cafeteria manager at Sharp Creek Elementary, is the local president of the Carroll County School Nutrition Association. Under Mary’s leadership, Carroll County won a Gold Scroll award. This award is earned through documenting school nutrition program events in Professional Development, Advocacy& Public Image, Membership & Community, and Governance & Operations. Mary put together documentation from schools all across the district to show just what steps we are taking to achieve premiere ranking in these areas.
