Seven Carroll County Schools Named 2017-2018 Title I Reward Schools

The Georgia Department of Education has released its 2017-2018 list of Title I Reward Schools. Seven Carroll County Schools earned recognition for their performance.
Ithica Elementary and Roopville Elementary were two out of 81 schools in Georgia to be named Highest Performing. This is the sixth consecutive year that Ithica Elementary and Roopville Elementary have been among the top performing schools in the state. Central Elementary, Glanton-Hindsman Elementary, Providence Elementary, Sand Hill Elementary, and Villa Rica Elementary all received recognition for being High Progress Schools.
Scott Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools stated, "These seven schools are a shining example of why Carroll County School System is a premier choice for all students. I am so proud of our administrators and teachers for their continuous commitment to academic excellence in premier learning environments."
▪ A Highest-Performing School is among the five percent of the state's Title I schools with the absolute highest performance, over three years, for the "all students" group on the statewide assessments. A school may not be classified as a Highest-Performing School if it has been identified as a Priority or Focus School.
▪ A High-Progress School is among the 10 percent of the state's Title I schools making the most progress in improving the performance of the "all students" group over three years on the statewide assessments. A school may not be classified as a High-Progress School if it has been identified as a Priority or Focus School.
