Three Carroll County Seniors Named Georgia Scholars

May 10 2019

Carroll County has three graduating seniors who have been recognized as 2019 Georgia Scholars. Lauren Holm and Charles (Sam) Conerly, Jr. from Central High School, and Logan Haynes from Villa Rica High School have received this prestigious honor.

Georgia Scholars are students who have carried exemplary course loads during their four years of high school; who performed excellently in all courses; who successfully participated in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities; and who have assumed active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for his or her diploma.

"Across our state, 260 graduating seniors were chosen for this distinction. Our three winners from Carroll County are all multi-talented beyond the classroom, and their selection demonstrates how important it is for those of us in education, to cultivate the whole child," stated Dr. Travis Thomas, Director of Teaching and Learning Secondary Education and Assessment.
