Three Carroll County Students Earn Top Honors in Optimist Essay Contest

Three Carroll County students were recently recognized as top winners of the Optimist Club Essay Contest. Indya Price from Temple High School and Kendra Ball from Central High School earned first place awards, and Central Middle School Student, Harlow Rice, won second place.
The Optimist Essay Contest provides youth with the opportunity to write about their own opinions and perspective of the world. In addition to receiving award recognition, participants can earn college scholarships. Both Price and Ball will advance to the district contest where they will compete for a $2,500 college scholarship funded by the Optimist International Foundation.
