VRHS teacher chosen as state American History Teacher of the Year

The Colonial Dames of the 17th Century have named Villa Rica High School teacher Jonathan Cook the state winner of their Outstanding American History Teacher of the Year award.  The William Wofford Chapter (Carrollton) of the Colonial Dames nominated Cook and he was named state winner March 6. Cook was nominated for his "passion for teaching and helping build a love of learning history in all of his students." Cook was chosen based on his own philosophy of teaching, classroom observation of his teaching and letters of recommendation. Cook was presented with a certificate and a $750 monetary award for the honor.
