Villa Rica High School Theatre is gearing up for Footloose the Musical at the University of West Georgia’s Townsend Center for the Performing Arts in May. Student performers will travel back to the 1980’s! The story follows the journey of Ren McCormack and his mother, Ethel— as they leave behind their life in Chicago for the less-exciting town of Beaumont. Upon their arrival, Ren discovers that his new town has a ban on his favorite past-time, dancing! He makes it his goal to turn the town upside down and encourage his elders to see his generation with new eyes. Along the way he meets the mysterious and raucous Preacher’s daughter, Ariel, as well as a new slew of friends that help his cause. Join us for an evening of dancing, singing, and rocking to the best 1980’s hits!
