Carroll County School System is delighted to share that Whitesburg Elementary School is featured in the latest issue of Principal Magazine for engineering student success through innovation.
“We are so proud of the WES staff for their commitment to implementing instructional strategies that actively engage students and make learning fun,” said Dr. Dana Harman, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. “Providing students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real world context prepares them for a successful future.”
Dr. Marissa Ogando, former Principal of WES and current Director of Middle School Education and Professional Learning added, “The entire Whitesburg community has contributed to the overall success that has occurred over the last several years. The staff consistently demonstrates a "whatever it takes" attitude to serve and support all students. Whitesburg is a great example of how community-based schools promote high-quality relationships between school, home, and local businesses. We would especially like to thank Aaron and Linda McWhorter, of NGTurf, for helping to promote innovation, connectivity, and the unique educational experiences that can only be found at Whitesburg. As leaders, our most fervent desire is to leave a positive legacy and pass the torch to another who will pick up the mantle and move forward. Ms. Jones is doing just that as she continues to engineer success at Whitesburg with the addition of the arts.”
