The Technology Department in Carroll County Schools is dedicated to the integration of technology in every aspect of the school system.  Support is provided to Carroll County students, staff, parents and community.

Operational Support: Technology Services maintains and services hardware and software pertaining to Carroll County School District's instructional, communication, and safety programs. Technology Services supports the network connectivity to each school and the Internet via a wide area fiber optic network and maintains current minimum specifications for approved computer purchases. Staff requests for routine technology support are submitted via an online technology request system and provided at the school leverl by technology support staff.

Instructional Support: Technology Services provides instructional support that includeds classroom integration of technology, online instruction (Georgia Virtual High School, E20-20), distance learning, web-based media, and wireless services. Expansion of Web 2.0 and other instructional support technologies, including an increased teacher-to-student ration of interactive whiteboards, access to internally supported research portals, and internally supported secure blog sites are currently among Web 2.0 expansion discussions by the Technology Steering Committee.

Communications and Safety: Technology Services provide communications support and data back-up inclusive of email services, student information services, business services, and web services. Technology Services also provide safety support for closed circuit camera systems, network security, and student safety. District personnel maintain a network firewall and content filter in accordance with the Children's Internet Protection Act of 2000 (CIPA) regulations and the Carroll County School District's Acceptable Use Policy (CCBOE Policy IFGB: Internet Acceptable Use).
