Superintendent Scott Cowart today met with his Student Advisory Council for the first time this school year, welcoming them and inviting them to become Student Ambassadors for Carroll County Schools.
Earlier this year, middle and high schools chose student representatives to serve on the council. Nineteen students met at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center for lunch, a learning session on becoming an ambassador and a listening session with district leaders.
Two members of the Blue Coats -- the University of West Georgia's Student Ambassadors -- interacted with the students and shared about their role as an ambassador for the University.
Charity Aaron and Ben Chambers from the Partnerships and Communication Department led the students through a number of exercises to help them think about their personal brand and prepare them to share about their school and the system as a whole as they serve in their ambassador role.
Associate Superintendent Dr. Jessica Ainsworth and Assistant Superintendent Jared Griffis asked the students for feedback from their individual schools.
As Student Ambassadors, the council members will be asked to attend select events on behalf of their school and the district as a whole. They will help welcome, engage and interact with guests, other students, parents, and district and school personnel.
The council meets throughout the school year to get student input and provide leadership training.
