Central Middle School student Hudson Hooton and Mount Zion High School student Gavin Vick both won first place in the Georgia Student Technology Competition March 1 while three individual students and two student teams were runners-up.
Hooton won the graphic design competition for grades 7-8 and Vick won the project programming competition for grades 11-12.
Central High School student Elizabeth Acree placed second in digital photo production for grades 9-10. Whitesburg Elementary School student Elias Beckham placed second in the animation competition for grades 3-4. Central Middle School students Hayden Hudson & Andrew Willoughby placed second in digital game design for grades 7-8. Sand Hill Elementary School students Charleigh Marlow & Ayda Bailey placed second in robotics for grades 5-6. Sharp Creek Elementary School student David Scroggins placed second in graphic design for grades 5-6.
