Ann Wilson is Georgia State Chair of Women Band Directors International

Congratulations to Ann Wilson, Associate Director of Bands at Villa Rica High School, as the new Georgia State Chair for Women Band Directors International! Women Band Directors International represents women band directors of all pedagogical levels and years of experience from college students to retired directors. It is the only international organization for women band directors featured toward promoting women, providing support and community, and mentoring women in the band field and it plays a vital role in fostering community, advocacy, and excellence in music education. Wilson conducts the VRHS Symphonic Band and leads the VRHS Midnight Jazz Cats. She is a co-sponsor of the VRHS Tri-M Music Honor Society. Wilson earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of West Georgia. During her tenure at UWG, she performed as part of the UWG Marching Wolves, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, Brass Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble.
