Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness

Two schools in Carroll County are among 136 across the state to be recognized this year as leaders in the field of school emergency preparedness by receiving the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness.

Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School and Whitesburg Elementary School were individually recognized for improving emergency preparation needs of their buildings through extensive planning and risk mitigation efforts. This is the second consecutive year that WES has received the Seal.

The Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness recognizes schools who are taking efforts to be prepared for the unexpected and fulfill state guidelines for emergency management. The Seal of Preparedness results from the collaborative efforts of the Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency as they take strides to better prepare our schools and commend schools for going above and beyond to increase school safety and minimize risk factors.

School may apply annually for the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness through an online application requiring specific documentation of drills, planning and collaboration practices throughout the school year, in addition to the submission of an approved school safety plan.
