Bowdon High School Junior Averi Lowen has earned her second consecutive All-Metro Cross-Country Runner of the Year title from the Atlanta Track Club following a record-breaking season in which she shattered the GHSA State Championship course record with a time of 16:56.12 -- the fastest ever recorded at the Carrollton course. Already a three-time state champion and nationally ranked, Lowen went undefeated in Georgia and broke the Wingfoot XC Classic course record, where she ran 16:28.1 - the fastest time run on Georgia soil in history. In the last month, Lowen has finished in the top ten in two national cross-country meets -- the Brooks XC National Championship in San Diego and the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland.
