Mary Hester receives the February 2026 24STRONG Award from Superintendent Scott Cowart, and district and school administrators

Congratulations to Villa Rica High School Lead Counselor Mary Hester, the 24STRONG Award winner for February 2026. Ms. Hester is a wonderful example of what a high school guidance counselor should be. After serving five years as Guidance Counselor at 12 for Life, Ms. Hester became a counselor at VRHS in 2024. In her nominations, her colleagues wrote that she in an invaluable asset who consistently makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those within her building and across the district. She never turns away a student in need, and continues to build meaningful connections both inside and outside the walls of the school -- relationships that support students and families. Both VRHS and Carroll County Schools are stronger because of Ms. Hester's leadership and dedication. Thank you, Mary Hester, for setting an example and showing us what it means to be 24STRONG!
