Early literacy is essential to help a child succeed. Ferst Readers of Carroll County plays an essential role in getting books in the hands of children before they ever start school. Now through March 18, Ferst Readers is raising funds through its Fourth Annual Book Character Contest. Please visit Bring a Book to Life Character Contest to view the contestants -- including Central Elementary School Principal Marla Turpin and Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School Principal Cecelia Brown.
