Bowdon High School junior runner Averi Lowen continued her superstar career at the 2026 Nike Indoor Nationals on March 12 and 13 the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation. She first ran the 5k championship race with a time of 15:32 to finish in second place and then the next day ran the 2-mile championship race with a time of 9:52, securing a second national runner-up finish at the same meet. Both race times were new personal records for Averi by over 20 seconds! After this 15:32 in the 5k and a 15:53 she ran earlier this season, Averi now has two of the top ten all time best high school performances in the 5k.
