Central High School Senior Max Kubik has be named one of only 162 Georgia Scholars for the Class of 2026, State School Superintendent Richard Woods has announced.
The Georgia Department of Education identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life through the Georgia Scholar program. Each honoree receives a seal for his or her diploma along with a graduation cord to recognize the achievement.
“Congratulations to the 145 outstanding students honored as Georgia Scholars this year!” Superintendent Woods said. “This prestigious recognition identifies students who go above and beyond in all aspects of life – both within the school walls and in the community. I wish them great success in their futures and can’t wait to see the impact they make on our state, nation, and world.”
Georgia Scholars carry exemplary course loads throughout their four years of high school, demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, actively participate in school and community activities, and serve as leaders in extracurricular and service organizations. Max is Central High School’s STAR Student, has excelled academically with numerous honors including AP Scholar with Distinction, AP Rural and Small Town Scholar, Questbridge Scholar, UGA Certificate of Merit, Georgia Tech STEPS program, and the STARS Fly-In at University of Chicago. He made a perfect score on the ACT. Kubik has been part of the swim team, math team, Science Olympiad, Academic Team, Chess Club and Beta Club, among others.
He is a member of Georgia School Superintendent Richard Woods’s Student Advisory Council. Kubik has received a full scholarship to Emory University where he plans to dual major in Neuroscience and Public Health. His parents are Stephen and Brook Kubik.
