Carroll County Schools

Congratulations to Mount Zion Elementary School First Grade Teacher Laura Vincent who has been named the first-ever West Georgia RESA Literacy Teacher of the Year. As part of the Georgia Council on Literacy's statewide Literacy Teacher of the Year award program, Vincent will join 15 other winners from Georgia's Regional Education Service Agencies in competing for the statewide honor. The Georgia Literacy Teacher of the Year is a new award that recognizes teachers whose students show the greatest growth in reading. Vincent now represents teachers in seven systems across west Georgia and in dozens of schools. The Georgia Council on Literacy will announce the statewide winner this December in Atlanta.
