Construction on the new covered practice facility at Bowdon High School will require a blast on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at noon. The Carroll Co. Fire Marshall has issued a blasting permit to Appalachian Explosives Services, LLC, and a representative of the Carroll County Fire Marshall's Office will be present on site for the blast. If you are in Bowdon at noon, you can expect to hear the blast. The school will ensure that no students, faculty or staff are endangered by the blast. Additional blasts may be scheduled in the future as construction proceeds.
